The Boulder County Justice Building required several types of upgrades that needed to address both existing systems for immediate improvement and lay the groundwork for future additions to and uses of the space. A good portion of our work in this facility included rerouting elements. For example, we rerouted chilled and heated air from occupied jail holding areas that needed to be upsized and have its air rerouted through the building. With other utility upgrades, we were able to reroute places in the system to accommodate a future infill project. We also rerouted upsized ventilation and crawl space exhaust to allow for future projects and expansion.
By executing all these upgrades and modifications, we have enabled the facility to accommodate for both summer and winter and eliminate the chance of building shutdown.
